The design concept of the McLaren P1 is derived from the F1 sports car. The new car adopts a large amount of aerodynamic design, which can also bring good downforce to the body while ensuring the high-speed passage of air. The carbon fiber panel and rear wing can be adjusted automatically. The designer said that the car was designed to look like a Le Mans race car, with a slender and low body, a long rear platform, and a large air intake to help dissipate the heat of the mechanical system. At the same time, the whole car adopts a carbon fiber body structure called "Mono Cage" by McLaren, which greatly reduces the weight of the car. But because the roof of the "monocoque" and the body are an integral part, the McLaren P1 will not launch a convertible version. The most eye-catching design on the body is the huge air inlet on the side of the door and the air inlet on the top of the door. The latter leads the air to the rear spoiler through a specially designed airflow channel.
